Welcome to the Under 7s for the new 2020/21 season!

Many of our players are carrying on from Under 6 last season, but we always have a lot joining directly at Under 7. We aim for training sessions to be fun and for coaches to show empathy with the players at all times. We encourage full participation by each player, and at U7 we'll be developing core skills through non-contact tag rugby.

Home training sessions are held at the Bank of England Sports Club, Roehampton Lane on Sundays from September to April.

Normally we play a variety of friendly matches with local clubs and each season culminates with the Middlesex County Festival, where we aim to ensure that all interested players participate! This Festival is normally the highlight of a young player's season and we are keeping fingers crossed that it will go ahead in 2021, COVID-19 allowing!

It is not essential for a player to have specialist kit for the start of the season. For example, T-shirts, shorts/tracksuit (no zips, please!) and trainers are perfectly suitable for the first few sessions. Keeping warm and dry, at this age, is critical to the child’s enjoyment and future ongoing participation.

Recruitment ‘No coaches, no helpers, no Mini Rugby!’

Everyone involved in Mini Rugby is an unpaid volunteer. For the coming season the U7s would welcome new volunteers.  The club actively encourages coaches to gain the relevant RFU qualifications and can provide help and support with this.
