Chairman's Letter 21st October

Posted by Alasdhair Lochrane on 23 October 2017

On Saturday 21 Oct, we held the Annual Vets Lunch and I wanted to pass on my thanks to the “Vets” who joined or sent their apologies. It was an excellent lunch and an outstanding afternoon of Club rugby for everyone.

We again managed to field three Bank XVs who all won. The 1st XV played Staines (Herts/Middx 1 League) beating them 38-24 to stay on top of the League with six wins from six games. The Development XV beat London Welsh and the Picquets XV beat Northolt - so very many congratulations to the Captains Chris Palmer, James Dooling and Miles Otway along with their squads of highly tuned athletes !!

The 1st XV displayed some first-class handling throughout their game along with impressive committed teamwork to overcome a much heavier Staines 1st XV. Look out for the match reports.

There was a tremendous Vets and friends’ touchline support on Saturday which all the players said made an enormous difference during the game.

Our next 1st XV home game is 4 November v London Welsh when we’d really appreciate another excellent touchline turn out. (The Welsh are the other League contenders for promotion so an important Club game).

I therefore wanted to invite all our Vets, families and friends to call in on Saturday 4 Nov to support the 1st XV and watch another highly entertaining game ….

I thought some of you might like to see Saturday’s photos of the Vets lunch and the Picquet XV and 1st XV post-match awards !!

Looking forward to seeing as many as possible on 4 Nov.

Best wishes and thanks once again

Bryan Brown
